About the Project

The AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETC) National Center for HIV Care in Minority Communities (NCHCMC) is the HIV/AIDS Bureau’s major effort to expand HIV/AIDS care and treatment within highly impacted communities of color.  AETC NCHCMC will increase access to comprehensive HIV care for ethnic and racial minority communities severely impacted by HIV by developing the organizational capacity of health centers that are not directly funded through the Ryan White Program.  AETC NCHCMC is funded through the Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) and the AETC program.

The AETC NCHCMC is led by HealthHIV and supports the President's National HIV/AIDS Strategy in reducing HIV related health disparities by expanding HIV care and treatment capacity at the community level and facilitating linkages to care.  The AETC NCHCMC will help increase the number of people who know their HIV status by building on current HIV testing and screening efforts.
